If you think that working on multiple Windows to open and view different files and folder situated on different drives is a hassle. And you wish that you could have multiple tabs for every folder or drive you want to work on or view. Then your wish has come true with Tab Explorer.
Tab Explorer is free software that adds tabs to Windows Explorer, thus making it look like a tabbed browser. With multiple tabs, you can easily make your life easier, thus boosting your productivity. Unlike QTTabBar, it doesn’t let different folder opens as tabs, but display a list of multiple tabs over the file menu, in each and every Window.

This makes accessing multiple folders and drive easy, as you can view any drive or folder from any tab. Having multiple tabs for multiple Windows on each Windows is what makes Tab Explorer a very user friendly application. The tab interface of Tab Explore looks more or less like Google Chrome tabs.

When you first run the application, you’ll prompt to choose from Enable Tab Explorer, Auto Run on System Startup, and Don’t Show this Windows again. Check Enable Tab Explorer to enable the functionality of having multiple tabs in Windows Explorer. You can also choose to have different color of each and every tab by checking the Rainbow Tab option. Rainbow Tab is sort of an eye candy. But hey there is nothing wrong in using different color for different tabs, makes them distinguishable. You can choose to auto run Tab Explore with Auto Run on System Startup.

Features of Tab Explorer

  • Add Tabs to Windows Explorer
  • Auto Run when system startup
  • Portable Mode
  • Lifetime upgrade for free
  • No Adware/Spyware/Virus guarantee
  • Simple and streamlined user interface.
  • Win7 Integration.
Tab Explorer works with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. It works well with both 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems.
Closing Words: Tab Explorer is great utility for people who have to work on files and folders situated over different drives. It helps in decreasing the work load of the users, thus making their work a little less frustrating and a little easier. I personally feel that tab explorer should have added support to copy files between two tabs. Maybe someday they’ll add this feature along with all other interesting features.
